Today’s Data Highlights (January 27)
– 2,86,384 new cases, 573 new deaths, 3,06,357 new recoveries, 20,546 decrease in active cases
– Active cases falling for the 3rd consecutive day. Sharpest dip in the active cases in 219 days
– New cases below 3 lakh for the 3rd day
– Kerala reports 49,771 new cases, Karnataka 48,905, Maharashtra 35,756
– Kerala reports 140 new deaths (including 77 backlog), Maharashtra 79, Tamil Nadu 47
– 23 states/UTs report fall in active cases
– Difference between new cases reported in the last 7 days and the preceding 7 days in India is +13% (world average is +8%)
– 22.35 lakh new vaccinations. 163.84 crore total. 4.26 lakh of 18+ population received their first dose yesterday, 13.64 lakh second dose. 1.79 lakh of 15-18 year olds received their first dose yesterday. 2.65 lakh received the precaution dose. 69.52 crore fully vaccinated
– Daily vaccinations lowest in 38 days
– 14.62 lakh new tests. All-India test daily positivity rate: 19.59% (16.16% the previous day)
– Daily tests lowest in 10 days
– Daily test positivity rate: Kerala 48.06%, Goa 33.94%, Puducherry 31,24%
– Test positivity rate (weekly average): Kerala 44.90%, Puducherry 41.85%, Goa 37.06%
– 378 districts (51.5%) reporting fall in weekly test positivity rate. 336 districts (45.8%) reporting a rise. 20 districts report no change (2.7%). (Data till January 25)
